I believe this movie was, for the most part, pretty accurate. However, there are a few things that have been proven to be inaccurate.

~For one, Rudy was the oldest son in his family, the character Frank was supposed to represent everybody who ever discouraged. Rudy didn't actually have any siblings like that.

~Second, there was no super encouraging grounds keeper. Fortune was supposed to represent three main people in Rudy's life that did support him.

~ Also, perhaps one of the biggest inaccuracies is the way Coach Dan Devine was portrayed. He was portrayed to be some horrible monster that tried to keep Rudy from living his dream, where in fact it was his idea to play him. The scene where all the players came in and threw their jerseys on his desk never happened. What really happened was the team captain went to his office and asked Coach Devine if Rudy could dress for the game and he agreed not only to that, but to also put him in the game.

~ Lastly, the big scene at the end where everybody chants for Rudy to come in and play did not happen that way. The crow did not start chanting until after Rudy was already on the field. It was filmed this way to show the amount of respect that Rudy had from his teammates and fans.
