RUDY

Daniel E. Ruettiger or "Rudy" is played by Sean Astin. Rudy is the main character. Throughout the movie Rudy goes on to pursue his dream of playing football at Notre Dame.

Pete is played by Christopher Reed. In the movie, Pete is Rudy's best friend and the only person who believes that he can make it to Notre Dame. When Pete dies in an accident at work, this throws Rudy over the edge. Pete's death pushes Rudy to go to South Bend and try to get into Notre Dame.

Dennis or "D-Bob" is played by Jon Favreau. Rudy meets D-Bob in a class at Holy Cross Junior College. D-Bob befriends Rudy and helps him make the grades to get into Notre Dame.

Daniel Ruettiger is Rudy's dad and is played by Ned Beatty. Rudy's dad never really supported him in his dream to go to Notre Dame, he even tried to convince him not to go. However when Rudy received his acceptance letter his dad was never more proud. Daniel came to Rudy's game and cheered him on.

Fortune is played by Charles S. Dutton. Fortune gives Rudy a job and even a place to stay while he is studying at Holy Cross. He pushes Rudy to do his best and even convinced him not to quit the team.

Frank Ruettiger was played by Scott Benjaminson. Frank is Rudy's older brother. He never supports Rudy with his dream, and even when Rudy makes the team, Frank refuses to believe it. Frank makes fun of and taunts Rudy throughout the whole movie up until the end when Rudy sacks the opposing quarterback.
